Steven Heine, Professor and Director of Asian Studies at Florida International University, is an authority on Japanese religion and society, especially the history of Zen Buddhism and its relation to society in China and Japan. He has published over twenty books and dozens of articles, and has lectured extensively on these and related topics.
I was so happy when they arrived! The artwork is beautiful and truly captivating. By the time I got to the end I was pretty turned off, although I did find pages of references to studies that would have been more useful if they were referenced in the text.
This book struck me as a carelessly written rant against Big Bad Industry. Especially Syd's twin Megan who is obsessed with with playing matchmaker. These addresses are full of subjects which range from general reference - dictionary, encyclopedia to specialized subjects - literature, space, history, pets - you name it. He doesn't just beat you over the head with basic knowledge in one subject. Mark is telling us that the risen Jesus continues to rescue, feed, and inspire -- long after the day of resurrection.
